Ethics and values award 2017 A fundamental element to build a model of corporate social responsibility (CSR) or business (CSR) is ethics. After all, transparency and anti-corruption practices must accompany a company's actions at all times, whether it is publicly committed to CSR or not. Although a large part of the companies have a code of ethics , there are some that stand out for various reasons, such as their philosophy, their focus on the well-being of clients and collaborators, their non-discrimination and inclusion policies, various sustainability programs, risk prevention… in short, a well-planned and strengthened CSR. These good practices are recognized and promoted in the country by the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of the United Mexican States (CONCAMIN) through the Ethics and Values in the Industry Award.

It all started in 2001, when CONCAMIN took on the task of promoting a culture of ethics and values in business – in other words, the practice of CSR – as a strategy to improve the competitiveness of companies and, thus, contribute to the solution of corruption in Mexico.
For this reason, it created the Ethics and Values Commission within its organization and established the Ethics and Values in Industry Award, in coordination with the Mexican Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer in Small and Medium Enterprises (FUNTEC). The first edition of the award was held in 2002 and, since then, it has publicly rewarded the efforts of chambers, associations and companies that successfully integrate CSR into their operations. Ethics and Values Award 2017 Within the framework of the XXIV Annual Meeting of Industrialists (RAI) that was held from September 27 to 29 in Monterrey, CONCAMIN presented the 2017 Ethics and Values Award, referring to the winning companies as “reliable proof of a productive sector who is committed to the development of the country” in a statement. One of them was Telefónica México , which for the sixth consecutive time received this award in the Multinational Companies category.
